Spiritual Warfare
We live in a spiritual world, with demonic and angelic work going on around us,
constantly. We just don't recognize it, because of our spiritual
insensitivity and materialistic assumptions. Thus we don't give God the
credit He deserves for His answers to our prayers. Likewise we usually
don't recognize when Satan's forces do us harm or influence us.
Influence & harm they most certainly do. There are witches, pagans,
occultists, shamans, Gnostics and Satanists in our society who are spiritually
working against Christians and their influence. Galatians 3:1, Paul asks,
"Who has bewitched you?" Revelations 2:20-24 warns about a false
Christian leader misleading the brethren. The book of Jude is all about
Gnostic anti-Christians sneaking into our churches. This is why we have been in
retreat in our world, despite "Greater is He that is in me than he that
is in the world." 1 John 4:4
"In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will
be persecuted." 2 Tim 3:12 The more prominent and influential
you are, the bigger the bull's eye Satan's forces paint on your back. That
includes bankers, new converts, football players and intercessors. As a
Christian, you need to learn how to oppose Satan's angelic and human agents.
They will come at you politically, socially, economically, through the media
& schools and spiritually. They play for keeps, mercilessly.
"Be ye shrewd as snakes, yet as innocent as doves." Matt. 10:16.
We are not to fight people who are being used by the demons. Our battle is
with the demonic powers and principalities that control them. Eph. 6:12
There are those who say, "Don't go constantly looking for a demon behind
every bush" or "Don't get obsessed with evil." There is
truth to these warnings; we must have balance in our Christian life. This
field is only one of the things Jesus told us to do.

prevail against us. He meant that we would kick down the gates of hell, bind the "strong man"
and take many captives from the kingdom of Satan to freedom in Christ, just as Saint Patrick did.

There are people who heard the song, "In the name of Jesus," have
thought that Satan will have to flee at just saying His name. Not
true! James 4:7 says "Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil and
he will flee from you." This means we should submit to his son,
Jesus, and receive him into your heart. Then you turn to the devil (with
the Holy Spirit's authority) and command him to get out of you, your friends,
your family, your property and your town!
